School From Home University Hall of Innovation, USA.
School From Home was designed as a direct result of the COVID-19 global pandemic, and the long lasting stay at home orders. Including children in a similar ‘Work From Home’ scenario, the set was designed with inclusion, intuition, and confidence in mind. School From Home gives children the ability to understand the construction of how these pieces are made by showcasing their joinery, as well as giving the user the opportunity to deconstruct the stool from the storage unit. This not only creates a learning experience for the child, but allows them to have a sense of independence while configuring the furniture. This is done so they can have control over their own work flow.
The inclusion of the white board at the surface of the desk allows for a fun learning experience for the child. The School From Home set took initial inspiration from a traditional school desk where connectivity and proximity are deemed as essential. School From Home takes these two concepts and uses the effects from the pandemic as a vessel for testing these concepts at a moment of relevancy.
